In Buquan Township of Long’an County, you’ll find a river called Buquan River, also affectionately known as “Little Jiuzhai”, which springs from the bottom of Buquan Lake. The river boasts crystal-clear and tranquil waters that flow through an arching stone bridge, winding gracefully around lush mountains. During March and April, vibrant bougainvillea bloom at the river’s source, with flowers cascading like a brilliant waterfall, radiant as clouds at sunset.
Downstream from Buquan River, there is a stunning Longwang Dam. This winding stone dam divides the river into two parts, creating elevation differences. As the water pours over the dam, it produces delicate sprays that shimmer like a curtain of pearls meticulously arranged by nature in the sunlight, which is a true visual feast. On weekends, this scenic spot attracts many self-driving travelers who come to camp and soak in the breathtaking views.
