In autumn, various types of ornamental grass such as hairawn muhly, reeds and cattails can be seen everywhere in wetlands and parks in Nanning. The simple beauty of these ornamental grasses is a wonderful sight in autumn to appreciate.
It is reported that in the park, it is the best viewing season to appreciate various ornamental grasses which have become the protagonists of this season. These ornamental grasses often grow on the edge of ditches and rice fields, such as the Luolai Ditch, Fengling Gully and the both banks of Yongjiang River. In the Luolai Ditch, Xixiangtang District of Nanning, there are seven or eight different types of ornamental grasses, including Phragmites karka reeds and bamboo reeds. In the Luolai Ditch, there are mostly Chinese pennisetum named “Little Bunny” without dog tail grass. The “Little Bunny” in the park stretches endlessly, swaying with the wind, like waves rising on the shore.
