Former Site of Nanning Prefectural Party Committee of the Communist Youth League
The former site of Nanning Prefectural Party Committee of the Communist Youth League is located at No. 47 Beining Street, Xingning District, covering an area of about 1,100 square meters. The whole building sits in west and faces east. It was originally designed with three courtyards and two corridors, of which the first courtyard and two corridors are till reserved.
It is known that this place was originally named as Huichun Hall, the ancestral hall of Ma Shengzhi, the general soldier of Youjiang Town of the Qing Dynasty. In the third year of Xuantong period of the Qing Dynasty (1911), Lu Rongting, the governor of Guangxi, rebuilt the Huichun Hall into Ma Wulie Temple to worship Ma Shengzhi. On November 2, 1926, Yan Min, secretary of the Communist Youth League, established Nanning Prefectural Party Committee of the Communist Youth League here. Since then, it has become the command post of Nanning’s youth revolution. Famous revolutionary figures in Nanning such as Guo Xianda, He Fuqian and Mo Wenhua all started their revolutionary career here. As the former site of the Nanning Prefectural Party Committee of the Communist Youth League, this place was announced as a key cultural relic protection unit of Guangxi in 1981. In 1995, the memorial hall for Nanning’s Communist Youth League was built in its former site, which was appointed as Nanning patriotism education base and Nanning youth patriotism education base.
