Drivers frequently passing through Beida Xinyang Intersection have recently observed a notable traffic improvement, with increased vehicle flow efficiency during peak hours. Huang Haifeng, Deputy Director of the Research Institute of the Traffic Police Detachment of Nanning Public Security Bureau, explained that drones are now being used for routine patrols at the intersection. By analyzing traffic flow data, the traffic police were able to pinpoint the causes of congestion. In response, they implemented a series of comprehensive measures, including adjusting lane layouts and optimizing traffic signal controls, effectively separating U-turning vehicles from oncoming traffic.
Huang stated that this technology has overcome the limitations of traditional ground-level monitoring and greatly enhanced our ability to analyze complex traffic scenarios. It is known that Nanning’s traffic police will continue to expand the use of “drone + AI” technology in traffic management, driving the city’s road traffic system toward greater intelligence and precision, and ultimately providing a smoother travel experience for citizens.
