Museums are vital sanctuaries for preserving and passing down human civilization. They serve as bridges connecting the past, present, and future, playing a crucial role in promoting the exchange and mutual learning of world civilizations.
Among the exhibits at Nanning Museum, a bronze seal of Song Dynasty, titled “Guangnan Xilu Zhubo Bingma Dujian Copper Seal”, particularly stands out. This seal is the first official bronze seal of Song Dynasty discovered in Guangxi and the only artifact that illustrates the origin of Guangxi’s name. The term “Zhubo” refers to garrisoning, while “Bingma Dujian” was an official title at the time. The copper seal underscores the significant role Guangxi played in safeguarding the national borders during that era.
“We hope that visitors will gain a deeper understanding of the rich history and cultural heritage of Nanning through their visit. We are committed to collaborating with the city’s cultural development and the younger generation to contribute to the growth of both the city and its culture,” said Zhang Xiaojian, Director of Nanning Museum.
