Recently, Berth 1 and Berth 2 in the Chisha Operation Area of Qisha Port Area at Fangchenggang Port, Guangxi were officially opened to international vessels. At 11:55 on March 31, the first international vessel, the Singapore-registered “China Fortune”, successfully docked at Berth 2 in the Chisha Operation Area under the safety supervision of the Fangchenggang Maritime Safety Administration.
It is reported that Berth 1 and Berth 2 in the Chisha Operation Area are currently the largest automated bulk cargo berths in Guangxi. The facilities include two 200,000-ton bulk cargo berths with hydraulic structures designed for 300,000 tons. The total length of the dock is 830 meters, and the approach bridge stretches 1,500.18 meters. With a designed annual throughput capacity exceeding 19.6 million tons and a single-berth unloading capacity of 7,500 tons per hour, these berths are well-equipped to handle bulk raw materials such as aluminum ore, iron ore, coal, and copper-cobalt-nickel metal ores. Positioned as a key hub for bulk commodity distribution in Southwest China, their operation will significantly enhance the competitiveness of Beibu Gulf Port, and strengthen land-sea connectivity in Nanning and the western regions, while also boosting international economic cooperation.
