The sound of pipa music has echoed through the ages, and the beauty of Dunhuang dance endures. According to information released by Shanghai Brilliant Hero Culture Development (Group) Co., Ltd. on January 20th, the Chinese classical dance drama "Flower Rain on the Silk Road" will be performed in Nanning, Guangxi, from March 29th to 30th this year, with tickets now available online.
"Flower Rain on the Silk Road" is a large-scale national dance drama set in the prosperous Tang Dynasty, drawing inspiration from the Silk Road and the world-renowned murals of Dunhuang Mogao Grotto. It narrates the tale of Shenbi Zhang, a Dunhuang painter, his daughter Yingniang, and Persian merchants who forged a deep friendship through shared trials and tribulations.
Since its premiere in 1979, the dance drama has been performed over 4,000 times during 45 years, introducing the Silk Road's charm and Dunhuang culture to more than 40 countries and regions, including France, Italy, Germany, Japan, and North Korea, with an audience exceeding 5.45 million. It is celebrated as "a milestone in Chinese dance drama", "a model of Chinese national dance drama", and "the Oriental ‘Swan Lake’".
