Recently, the Antai College of Economics and Management at Shanghai Jiao Tong University released the "2024 China Winter Habitat Suitability Index List for Migratory-Bird-Style Elderly Care", which ranked Nanning second, following Haikou.
It is reported that this evaluation considered 55 cities predominantly located in six provinces and autonomous regions, including Hainan, Fujian, and Guangxi. These cities are characterized not only by their warm climates but also by favorable natural and socio-economic conditions. The evaluation indicators included temperature, air quality, and the number of top-tier hospitals. Nanning enjoys mild winters and summers free from extreme heat, and its air quality index consistently ranks among the highest in the country throughout the year. The city is home to numerous scenic spots and parks, such as the Qing Xiu Shan Scenic Spot, Nanhu Park, and Nanning People's Park, all of which provide fresh air and natural tranquility, ideal for the elderly. Furthermore, Nanning boasts a comprehensive transportation network. As interest in migratory-bird-style elderly care grows, Nanning remains committed to addressing the needs of its elderly population and enhancing the quality of retirement services.
