In recent days, due to the flood peak passing through, water levels in the Yongjiang River and surrounding areas have exceeded warning levels. Nanning’s police, in cooperation with relevant municipal departments, have stepped up patrols along Nanning Section of the Yongjiang River, fully implementing flood prevention emergency response measures to ensure the safety of lives and property under their jurisdiction.
It is learned that at the southern and northern ends of the Yongjiang First Bridge, police officers and auxiliary police have been working with departments of local sub-districts to staff flood monitoring points along the riverbanks and to provide on-site guidance and public awareness campaigns. The police have also increased patrols to prevent people from swimming in the river. Nanning’s police remind citizens that due to the ongoing flood discharge and drainage from the upstream of the Yongjiang River, the water level of the Yongjiang River remains high. Citizens are urged to stay safe, avoid lingering by the riverbank, refrain from playing on waterfront platforms, and not to fish or swim in the strong currents of the floodwaters to avoid danger.
