Recently, the Department of Transport of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has issued "The Five Initiatives for the Implementation of More People-Friendly Practical Actions Related to the Quality and Efficiency of Aging-Friendly and Barrier-Free Transportation Services in Guangxi in 2024", which aimed to deploy the implementation of 5 initiatives closely aligned with the needs of the people in the transportation sector.

Specifically, within the realm of transportation services, efforts are underway to continuously enhance services in urban buses, urban rail transit, and other relevant areas, aiming to improve the effectiveness of aging-friendly barrier-free services. Initiatives include expediting the adoption of low-floor and low-entry urban buses, introducing 14 new aging-friendly urban bus routes throughout Guangxi, and establishing a dedicated urban rail transit service line in Nanning. Furthermore, efforts will be made on optimizing station and vehicle environments and improving entrances, exits, and transfer facilities to create a safe, convenient and welcoming riding environment for all passengers, including the elderly.
