Recently, Nanning Municipal Natural Resources Bureau issued "The Several Measures on Optimizing Planning and Control Requirements for the Improvement of Residential Quality" (referred to as "The Measures" below), which outlined specific requirements for the upcoming residential planning and design in Nanning.
Among these requirements is the introduction of sky garden residences. Sky garden residences, also known as "fourth generation residences", are a new architectural model that integrates green ecological concepts into urban construction practices. By utilizing various three-dimensional greening methods such as platform greening and vertical greening of building exteriors, they combine sky garden courtyards with modern residences, creating a building where each household has a garden. "The Measures" encourages the concentrated creation of indoor sky gardens using high ceilings, split levels, and cantilevered large balconies. Indoor sky gardens refer to outdoor greening activity spaces set within a single residential unit with a height of no less than two natural floors.
