Recently, the Nanning Municipal Healthcare Security Bureau has announced the implementation of “The List of Drugs for National Basic Medical Insurance, Work-related Injury Insurance, and Maternity Insurance (2023)” (hereinafter referred to as “The 2023 Drug List”) in Nanning, which was issued by the National Healthcare Security Administration and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.

It is known that a total of 126 types of drugs have been added to “The 2023 Drug List”, including 21 types of cancer drugs, 17 types of anti-COVID-19 and anti-infection drugs, and 15 types of drugs for chronic diseases such as diabetes, mental illness and rheumatism. After the adjustment, the total number of types of drugs in the national medical insurance drug list has reached 3,088, comprising 1,698 types of Western medicines and 1,390 types of Chinese patent medicines; 892 types of TCM decoction pieces remain unchanged. This signifies the inclusion of a substantial number of new and effective drugs in the medical insurance. Furthermore, the national medical insurance negotiations led to an average price reduction of newly included drugs by 61.7%.
