It has been recently learned that the 2023 China-ASEAN International Canoeing Open Championship would be held on June 21st in the water area of the Minsheng Tourist Wharf on the Yongjiang River in Nanning. This championship will further promote the cooperation and exchanges in sports and cultural industries, between Nanning and the ASEAN region, and contribute to the construction of Nanning as a cross-border industrial integration and development cooperation zone between China and ASEAN with the power of sports.

It is understood that the participants of the championship will be divided into 3 groups, namely the professional group, the open group, and the green city group, with events including men's and women's single canoeing for a short distance of 200 meters and long distances of 3 kilometers and 6 kilometers. There are 350 participants in the championship. The participants in the professional group are athletes from various provincial and municipal canoeing teams while the participants in the open group and the green city group are canoeing players from ASEAN countries, as well as canoeing enthusiasts from associations, schools and clubs.
