Recently it was learned that, with the consent of CPC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Committee and People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Development and Reform Commission of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region approved the Feasibility Study Report of Pinglu Canal Project, marking the beginning of the construction of the century project, which serves the major national strategies such as New Western Land-Sea Corridor and gathers the long-awaited expectations of the people of all ethnic groups in Guangxi.

It is learned that Pinglu Canal Project is a major strategic project to accelerate the construction of a transportation power, jointly construct New Western Land-Sea Corridor at a high level, and build a magnificent Guangxi featuring the socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era. Upon the completion, it will open up a convenient waterway for trade exchanges between China and ASEAN, promote the all-round development of China-ASEAN economic and trade cooperation, accelerate Nanning and other inland cities to seek opportunities of growth from the sea, and achieve win-win results in economy, society, ecology and other benefits.
