“Master Plan on Nanning Port (2035)” approved (II)

According to “The Plan”, Nanning Port is now divided into Liujing Port District, Niuwan Port District, Central City Port District, Hengxian Port District, Long’an Port District and Mashan Port District. According to the location conditions, own characteristics, construction conditions and development status of each port district and port point, it is planned to scientifically locate the key operation area of each port district, so as to meet the needs of regional water transport development. The nine public wharf operation areas planned for Nanning Port will form a wharf coastline with a length of 9.795 km, all of which are deep-water wharf coastlines, where 94 deep-water berths can be built, with an annual throughput of 49.9 million tons of goods to be able to meet the cargo throughput requirements of Nanning Port in the planning level year.

“The Plan” has adjusted the layout of some port shorelines of Nanning Port and improved the functions of the port district. According to the industrial layout, cargo shorelines and passenger shorelines have been added. For example, Niuwan Port District has added bulk cargo processing function. Next, Niuwan Port District can effectively undertake the bulk cargo transportation transfer of the old wharf in the Central City Port District of Nanning Port. Moreover, the planning has also added a number of water passenger shorelines and port supporting shorelines, making a good layout for the development of water tourism and the construction of working ship wharf in Nanning Port.
