Recently, “The Master Plan on Nanning Port (2035)” (hereinafter referred to as “The Plan”), as the outcome of the revision of the master plan on Nanning Port promoted by Nanning Transport Bureau, was jointly approved by the Ministry of Transport of the People’s Republic of China and the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The approval of “The Plan” is of great significance to the scientific layout and construction of the port terminal operation area of Nanning, accelerating the construction of Xijiang River Golden Waterway and promoting the development of Xijiang River Economic Belt.
The planning scope covers the shorelines of Youjiang River, Zuojiang River, Yujiang River and Hongshui River within the jurisdiction of Nanning. The current base year of the planning level year is 2019, the short-term planning level year is 2025 and the long-term planning level year is 2035. According to the characteristics of Nanning’s coastline resources and relevant planning, and comprehensively considering the needs of short-term construction and long-term development, 33.459 km of port coastline is planned to be used, including 26.372 km of freight coastline, 4.440 km of passenger coastline and 2.647 km of port supporting coastline. Out of the planned port coastline, 3.134 km of coastline has been developed. The planned use of the port coastline can meet the needs of the development of Nanning Port and leave some room for its further long-term development.
