How to apply for a temporary residence permit?
Besides his/her ID card and two one-inch facial photos, the applicant should
1. Bring with him/her the permanent residence registration book of the owner of the house where he/she is living in and apply to the local police station;
2. Register in the work unit or to his/her employer who is to apply to the local police office for the applicant when living within the premises of an institution, a group, the army, an enterprise or a work unit, or on a worksite, production ground or on boats and ships; and
3. Ask the landlord to apply to the local police station with the lease when living in a rented house.
At which Chinese ports can a passport be visaed?
The following ports have been authorized by the Ministry of Public Security of China to grant a visa: Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Dalian, Fuzhou, Xiamen, Xi’an, Guilin, Hangzhou, Kunming, Guangzhou (Baiyun Airport), Shenzhen (Luohu and Shekou), Zhuhai, Haikou, Sanya, Qingdao, Weihai, and Yantai.
