Over the past few days, the Forestry Bureau of Yongning District has been conducting a publicity campaign on forest production and forest pest prevention in addition to forest fire prevention and safe production across the streets and villages and also at Baliting Forest Farm and Wuhe Returned Overseas Chinese Forest Farm under its jurisdiction.
According to the relevant reports, the publicity campaign is mainly focused on forestation subsidy policies and afforestation technologies for eucalyptus generic transformation, oil-tea camellia, and nuts. Meanwhile, it also introduces how to prevent forest pests and diseases, including pine wood nematode and mikania micrantha and also bans on dull black rhynchophorus palmarum breeding. It’s aimed at encouraging people to develop forestry industries of oil-tea camellia, nuts, camphor, etc. and actively engaging in the generic transformation of eucalyptus so as to optimize forest composition and enrich the forest ecosystem. Through handing out simply-worded publicity pamphlets on forest pest prevention, the publicity campaign has built up people’s knowledge of forestry pests and engaged them in preventing forestry pests and protecting forestry ecological security.
