Shanglin Dalong Lake Scenic Area consists of Dalong Lake and Dalong Cave.  Dalong Lake, a man-made alpine lake formed by artificially retained underground  water, has a karst landform with a total storage capacity of 151 million cubic  meters. The distance from the lake surface to the deepest point of the lake is  more than 180 meters. There are 14 natural islands in the lake, and Dalong Cave  lies on the shore of the lake with 12 tourist halls. It is said that the  beautiful lake is known as the "Ha Long Bay of China". Since its opening, the  scenic area has improved the transportation facilities like motor boats and  luxury cruise ships to allow visitors to enjoy the lake scenery by boat.
