A subsidiary held by Guangxi Yunde Group, Langdong Bus Station is located at No. 186, Minzu Avenue with the Minzu Avenue to its north and the local bus service yard to its west. It’s within the walking distance to the entrance to Guilin-Beihai Express Highway, Nanning-Beihai Express Highway, and the express highway surrounding Nanning. It’s put into operation in December, 2003 and passed the ISO certification in 2004. It has been the most convenient bus station for going from Nanning to the cities in Guangxi and the neighboring provinces.
It has the total investment of 120 million yuan and covers an area of 46,670 m2. Out of its 29,000 m2 flooring area, the waiting hall on the 2nd floor takes up nearly 5000 m2. The whole station has appropriate layout with advanced facilities and complete functions. Installed in the station are the POS for ticket selling, A/C, elevators, LED screen, full range e-monitoring system, multi-functional alarm and fire control system, GPS monitoring system, etc. The on-phone and on-line ticket booking systems have been set up to ensure the easy mobility of passengers. Within the station, there are passages for the disabled and special areas are designated for mothers with babies, military service people and ASEAN guests. In 2013, the light rail will be connected with Langdong Bus Station, giving the station easier access. For its further development, 128 mu of land, or 8.5 hectares, will be allocated for the expansion of the station. Such moves will greatly improve the business scale and service of the station to make it the largest bus station in Guangxi with the most regulated service management.
Now there are over 1000 buses running on 235 routes starting from the station. More than 20,000 people are carried out every day on average and this figure could go up to over 50,000 people on peak days. The direct bus routes have linked to 78 cities and counties in Guangxi, and to another 19 provinces such as Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, Shannxi, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Sichuan, Shandong, Henan, Hong Kong and Macao. In 2005, the routes to Hanoi, Hai Phong and Ha Long, all of Vietnam, were opened, making it the first station in China to operate such convenient routes between China and Vietnam. These routes are popular with the Chinese and Vietnam people and have laid solid foundation for the transnational operation and industrialization of Yunde Group.
Over the past years, various campaigns have been carried out and other small but well-thought facilities have been set up in the station to better serve all passengers. Besides, a variety of activities have been held to better cohere the staff and improve the corporate image, and many awards and titles have been gained consequently at national, provincial and municipal level.
