Affected by the cold waves coming earlier and many other unfavorable factors, Guangxi is now facing a very serious banana sales crisis, and over 900,000 tons of bananas remain in dead stock. According to the statistics by Guangxi General Station of Technical Guidance of Fruit Production, Guangxi’s banana planting area this year reaches over 1.1 million mu, and the total output of banana is estimated to be as much as 2.1 million tons, an increase of 84.5% over the previous year. However, the present situation of banana sales is not gratifying. On November 19, the purchasing price of most of the banana was only 0.4--0.5 yuan per kg. It is predicted by related persons that there are 900,000 tons of banana unsalable in Guangxi at present.
