The 2009 Guangxi Fortune Forum was held in Nanning on Nov. 21, with over 70 VIPs from relevant departments, financial institutions, business sectors as well as the scholars and elites from the economic and financial sectors of Guangxi attending the forum. They shared their opinions with each other and had in-depth discussions on the global financial crisis and the economic and social development in Guangxi. Mr. Li Jinzao, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guangxi Committee and senior vice chairman of Guangxi Government also attended the Forum and delivered the speech.

Mr. Li gave a brief introduction to the current economic situation in Guangxi and put forward several relevant topics worth research and study. He hoped that the Forum could contribute to the economic development in Guangxi with valuable proposals. The Guangxi Fortune Forum has been successfully held for 2 consecutive years. This year’s Forum had the theme of “the global financial crisis and the economic and social development in Guangxi” and the 3 topics of “the financial countermeasures in Guangxi against the global financial crisis”, “the fiscal and taxation countermeasures in the post-financial crisis period” and “the countermeasures taken by Guangxi’s enterprises in the transitional period”, based on which the 3 sub-forums of financing, fiscal and taxation as well as entrepreneur were held. Following the agenda of opening remarks by the leader, the keynote speeches and the opening discussion, the Forum served as a good platform for the participants to have in-depth discussions on the current economic and financial situations based on which they could make proper judgment on the economic and social development direction in Guangxi and put forward the proposals for Guangxi’s faster development.
