Recently, the Qu’na Tunnel of the newly-built Nanning-Chongzuo Intercity Railway was successfully connected. By far, the total investment of the whole line reached 7.2 billion yuan, accounting for 50% of the total investment, and Nanning-Chongzuo Intercity Railway is planned to be completed and open to traffic in 2022.
It is learned that Nanning-Chongzuo Intercity Railway serves as the traffic facilities for the construction of the “Belt and Road” Initiative and China-Singapore (Chongqing) Connectivity Initiative - Southern Transport Corridor, with a designed speed of 250km/h and a length of 119 km. As a major project of Nanning-Chongzuo Intercity Railway, the Qu’na Tunnel has a total length of 1,345 meters, it passes through the fault zone twice in total and its maximum buried depth is 112 meters. It is a unique karst tunnel in karst landform areas. The Qu’na Tunnel became the first medium-long karst tunnel to be successfully connected across the whole line after the resumption of work, marking that a major breakthrough has been made in the main part of the project.
