1. How to apply for the relief and support for the extremely poor?
Answer: The application for the relief and support for the extremely poor shall be examined and approved online. People shall submit a written application by themselves to the township people’s government or the sub-district office of the place where the household registration is located, with proof materials such as identity card, household registration book and proof of illness or disability, specifying the working ability, source of livelihood and the situation of support, aliment and maintenance. If one person has difficulty in applying, he or she can entrust the village or neighborhood committee or another person to file the application on behalf of him or her.
The township people’s governments, sub-district offices, village committees and neighborhood committees shall keep abreast of the living conditions of the residents within their jurisdiction in a timely manner. When those who meet the conditions of the relief and support for the extremely poor are found, they shall be informed of the relief and support policies. If they are without civil capacity to apply independently, these organizations shall take the initiative to help them apply.
2. What relevant materials shall the applicant submit?
Answer: The relevant materials that the applicant shall submit include: (1) the application form (specifying the working ability, source of livelihood and the situation of support, aliment and maintenance); (2) the authorization letter for checking the applicant’s family economic status; (3) the original of the applicant’s resident identity card and household registration book; (4) other certificates related to the examination and approval matters: 1) Disabled persons shall provide the “Disabled Person’s Certificate of the People’s Republic of China”; 2) Students who are still receiving compulsory education or attending ordinary high schools or secondary vocational schools after they have reached the age of 16 shall provide certificates of their school; and 3) other certificates that need to be submitted.
