Located in Songkhla Province in southern Thailand, Hat Yai City has an area of 21 square kilometers and a population of 158,000 (the data in December 2017). It is an important industrial and commercial city in southern Thailand and one of the main distribution centers for Thailand’s rubber. The Thai Rubber Market and Research Institute are settled here. The education in Hat Yai City is well-developed. Prince of Songkhla University has set up its campus here, and the local Chinese societies have also launched Chinese schools like Guoguang and Taohua. Besides, Hat Yai is also a transportation hub in southern Thailand.
