Ingredients: 30 grams of Radix astragali, 15 grams of Chinese yam, 12 grams of Chinese angelic, tuber of multiflower knotweed, prepared rhizome of rehmannia and, three grams of the fruit of Chinese wolfberry, 1,500 grams of black-bone chicken, one cup of rice wine, one cup of black soy bean, one small spoon of salt, and five pieces of ginger.
Cooking: Clean the chicken, black soy bean and the medicinal materials, and put the medicinal materials into the filter bag for ready use. Cut the chicken into pieces, put them into boiling water and cook them for 5 minutes, remove the chicken and prepare it for ready use. Combine the chicken, medicinal materials, and condiments together and bring them to a vigorous boil. Then stew them over a small fire for about 30 minutes until they are tender. Then unwrap the bag and the food is ready to eat.
Effects: This dish will nourish the blood and tonify the qi building up both spleen and kidney in Spring. It is especially effective for those both males and females who are weak in qi and blood, and cold in hands and feet.
