Recently, the first phase of the Nanning International Railway Port project was put into construction in Shajing of Nanning City, including the construction of container operating line, and operation lines in agricultural product logistics area and steel logistics area. It is reported that this international railway port spanning 5,634 mu and to be constructed by four phases is planned to be completed in 2023. Specifically, the first phase is scheduled to be put into operation after acceptance and debugging by the end of August, 2019.
According to Huang Yining, Chief Engineer of China Railway Nanning Group Co., Ltd., the completed port will be a new and important pivot for the new land and sea channel in the western region of China, and also a hub for multimodal transport. As it is close to the marshalling station, the trains will depart from or assemble at the port on the occasion. As a result, the project will eventually become the core node of the new land and sea channel in the western region of China, the multimodal transport hub for regional cooperation and development, and the modern logistics model for the port-industry-city integration.
