Recently, above a large field of rice in Zhangyuan Village, Taoxu Town, Hengxian County, Nanning City, four unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for plant protection were evenly spraying pesticides formulated by technicians to conduct thorough pest control.
Reportedly, it is the critical period for the growth of late rice. The Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau of Hengxian County has introduced UAVs which are a kind of new agricultural machinery to carry out specialized and unified pest prevention and control for rice, and strive to ensure a bumper harvest for farmers. This UAV prevention and control was jointly carried out by the bureau and the UAV team of Guangxi Feiniu Technology Co., Ltd., providing a free pest control operation for more than 6,600 mu of rice fields in Taoxu Town for a week. By using the UAVs to conduct the pest control, pesticide waste, labor cost and agricultural non-point source pollution can be reduced and the quality safety can be improved, according to Wei Zhenfei, director of Plant Protection Station of Hengxian County.
