Large sculpture named "Nian Nian You Yu" displayed in Nanning

On February 6, the unveiling ceremony of the large-scale sculpture named "Nian Nian You Yu" (meaning more than sufficient every year) by the Guilin artists Luo Brothers was held in the Museum of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The sculpture is cast with stainless steel and weighs 830 kilograms, combining the symbols of Fuwa, carp and south bead pearl, which imply as the best wishes to Guangxi.

The sculpture contains Chinese traditional elements like Fuwa, carp and south bead pearl, among which the postures of Fuwa and carp are so vivid that people would easily connect them to traditional Spring Festival paintings. An amazing pedestal made of cans is full of modern elements and forms a strong visual impact with the main body of the sculpture. It can be said that the whole work combines the aesthetic taste of traditional Chinese New Year pictures with the modern concept of China's opening up.
