Recently, the NBS Survey Office in Nanning released the survey data on consumer price index (CPI) in the first half of 2020 in Nanning. According to the data, in the first half of this year, the CPI in Nanning rose by 3.8% year on year, 1.4% higher than that of the previous year. The prices of eight kinds of goods and services in the survey showed a trend of “increasing in four kinds of goods and services and decreasing in another four”.
Among the goods and services, the prices of food, tobacco and alcohol in Nanning rose by 15.1% year on year, which served as the most important factor affecting the rise in CPI, especially the price of food, which rose by 20.2%, boosting the overall CPI by about 3.8%. The prices of livestock meat, poultry meat and aquatic products boosted the overall CPI by about 4.0% in total, while the prices of dried and fresh fruits and vegetables lowered the overall CPI by about 0.4% in total.
