In recent years, Yongning District of Nanning City has taken “Building a New Landmark of Eco-cultural Tourism in Guangxi” as its development goal, and “Zhuang Minority Fortune Land, Eco-Yongning” as its tourism image theme, continuing to strengthen targeted poverty alleviation, and steadily promoting the integration of tourism development and poverty alleviation. It expanded tourism poverty alleviation market by combining local characteristic advantages, so as to create famous tourism counties or districts with Guangxi characteristics.
Since 2016, Yongning District has invested 580 million yuan to push forward poverty alleviation. In the past three years, more than 2,500 people have been employed through direct and indirect participation in tourism industry, with an average annual household income of more than 5,000 yuan. From 2016 to 2018, a total of 1,211 people were lifted out of poverty through tourism in Yongning District, exceeding the tasks assigned by Nanning City.
