Guangxi Foreign Trade Gradually Stabilizes and Grows in the First Half Year

According to Nanning customs’ statistics, import and export value of Guangxi foreign trade in the first half of 2016 stood at 138.17 billion yuan, 4% lower than that of the same period last year, with a decline of 0.5 percent compared with January to May. Though the decrease is 0.7 percent higher than that of the national average during the same period last year, the gap is narrowing.

In the first half of the year, import and export value of Guangxi border trade reached 65.24 billion yuan, with an increase of 0.5%. Import and export value of frontier trade grew 32.3%, becoming the fastest growing trading mode. Guangxi imports and exports from and to ASEAN countries fall by 3.2%, 1.2 percent lower than that from January to May; the situation of foreign trade with advanced economies continued to be stable, among which imports and exports from and to the European Union countries, Australia, Canada and other countries witnessed different degrees of growth.
