Knowsley Borough lies in Merseyside County, UK. It covers an area of 87 km² with a population of 154,053. It consists of Kirkby Town, Huyton Town, Prescot Town, Whiston, Halewood, Knowsley village, Cronton and Tarbock. The borough has a very convenient transportation and is connected to the outside with the Liverpool port and Liverpool airport nearby.
Huyton Town, Kirkby Town and Prescot Town are the commercial centers of the borough. Many international corporations have their sub-companies in Knowsley, including BICC Cable, Ford Auto, LUCAS, International News, Kodak, and Audis Lift.
The city council of Knowsley attaches much importance to environmental protection and the city has been awarded the National Green Apple Award and the KPMG Award. The borough is honorably named as City of Wide Flowers and attracts many tourists every year.
Knowsley became the sister city of Nanning on August 16, 2005.
