Yuedong Academy, standing in No. 22, Zhuangzhi Road (the present address of Zhuangzhi Road Primary School), is the grandest academy architecture in the early days of Republic China. It was first built in the early days of Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty, with fund raisrd by businessmen from Guangdong in Nanning. Covering an area of over 8,000 k㎡,the original academy was a building with three courtyards, with more than 20 rooms surrounding the yards. Only the front hall still exists, while the rest of it was demolished in the late 1950s. The academy used to be very neat in layout, with all buildings high and low in order. It is characterized by the style of being light and picturesque.
