Nanning Museum is located at No. 15 Longdi Road, Liangqing District, Nanning City, adjacent to the beautiful Yongjiang River. It is a local comprehensive museum primarily focused on the education, collection, exhibition, and study of Nanning's historical and cultural heritage. The museum was completed and officially opened to the public for free in January 2016. It is a national first-class museum and an AAA tourist attraction, with a total construction area of 30,000 square meters, an exhibition hall area of 12,000 square meters, and a collection of 25,036 pieces/sets.
The architectural design of the museum is aesthetically pleasing and uniquely local, with an exterior resembling a cluster of delicate leaves. The facade uses modern materials such as perforated aluminum panels and is adorned with ethnic patterns like Zhuang brocade. The combination of modernity, regional characteristics, and ethnic elements has earned it the title of "Top Ten Characteristic Museums in Guangxi".
The museum positions itself as a "city cultural community that dialogues with history, appreciates art, and inherits civilization", striving to create an internationally influential and domestically first-class "museum in growth". There are five permanent exhibition halls in the museum, namely the "Ancient Nanning", the "Modern Nanning", the "Nanning Mutiny", the "Folk Song", and the "Red Pottery". It has also established a system for special and temporary exhibitions, with two special exhibition halls and two temporary exhibition halls hosting more than a dozen high-quality domestic and international exhibitions each year. The museum has been awarded the "Best Example Award for International Friendly Exchange and Cooperation" by China International Cultural Exchange Center.
