In April this year, Nanning was selected into the list of pilot projects for promoting sports consumption and event economy announced by the General Administration of Sport of China. During the May Day holiday, our city has revitalized the city's vitality and introduced a new holiday trend by improving venue services, enriching event supply, relying on special routes, and combining varieties of activities, namely "sports events entering into scenic spots, blocks, and business circles", "travelling to follow various events", "enjoying wonderful events & tasting Chinese food" and the three-year action themed with "Weight Management Year".

The sports department of Nanning has encouraged and guided large and medium-sized public sports venues to upgrade and renovate, and made all-round improvement from venue conditions to operation services so as to create a better exercise environment for citizens. During the May Day holiday, many public sports venues have offered free or low-cost opening discounts to attract citizens to stadiums.

Sport is not only a synonym for health, but also a "new track" for urban economic development. Next, the 2025 National Gymnastics Championships and the Adult Group's Gymnastics Qualification Competitions for the 15th National Games, the 2025 Li Ning & Chen Long Badminton Singles Open (Nanning), the Nanning Dragon Boat Open and other events will be held in Nanning one after another. Relevant departments will continue to deepen the integration of culture, commerce, sports and tourism, introduce more consumption promotion measures, transform the "traffic" of the event into consumption "energy" and economic "increment", and make the brand of "Sports in the Green City & Vibrant Nanning" become more popular.
