Pharmaceutical industry is one of the six major key industries in Guangxi¡¯s 10th Five-Year Plan for industrialization development. In China, as is well-known, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) plays a dominant part in pharmaceutical industry. The reason why TCM industry has taken up such a large proportion of the pharmaceutical industry is that it has relied heavily on the rich resources of TCM materials in Guangxi. Therefore there is a bright prospect for the development of the market for TCM materials in Guangxi.

By introducing 30 pharmaceutical enterprises, an annual output value of 3,000 million Yuan and tax 300 million Yuan can be made.
