Its traditional decorative patterns are pattern of ¡°Wan¡±(Chinese character), water pattern, cloud and thunder pattern, and chrysanthemum pattern. And there are more than 20 compound patterns, such as butterflies flying around the flowers, two dragons competing for a pearl, and a lion playing with a ball, etc. Zhuang brocade is widely used as bed blanket, bedcover, apron, suspender, waistband, bag, reticule, scarf, clothes decoration, etc.

As big as a fist, embroidered silk ball made in Guangxi is woven with colorful cloth or silk into the pattern of flowers and birds with colorful tassel. It was developed from an object originally thrown or tossed in some entertainment or sports activities into the token of love and later popularized among people. There are stories about throwing an embroidered silk ball to choose the husband in the Chinese ancient plays and novels. The embroidered silk ball mentioned here are more of ethnic characteristics. The twelve petals of the embroidered silk ball stand for twelve months and the twelve petals as a whole symbolize happiness and completeness all the year round. In the Zhuang¡¯s legend, Liu Sanjie, the fairy lady of Zhuang songs, threw an embroidered silk ball to A¡¯niu, a very kind-hearted young man, to express her love. Therefore, the embroidered silk ball is also called ¡°Liu Sanjie embroidered silk ball¡±.
