Nanning Normal School 　

Founded in June, 1971, Nanning Normal School is the only full-time secondary normal school of Nanning with 3-year teacher-training programs, such as music, fine arts and computer science; 5-year programs for primary teachers, such as liberal arts, science, music and fine arts; and 2-year programs for primary teachers, such as liberal arts and science. The school has a total enrollment of 1,118 students in 27 classes. Up to 2002, it had 121 faculty & staff members, among them 92 are teachers. Out of the teachers, 6 had Master’s Degrees and 13 were taking Master’s programs, 66 had completed courses for Master’s Degrees programs, 27 teachers had senior academic titles and 41 had intermediate academic titles. One teacher was the leading person in the discipline and 29 were backbone teachers at municipal level; and 2 teachers were serving as standing members of National Academic Society. The school campus covers an area of 1.65 hectares with a total floor space of 32,768 square meters, 29.3 square meters for an average student. The school property totals 5.77 million Yuan RMB, including 3 demonstration multi-media classrooms, 4 52-seat multimedia classrooms for computer teaching, 2 56-seat language labs, a 62-seat classroom for electronic organ teaching, 98 pianos, 160 accordions, 1,300 fine art teaching aid facilities and 90,000 books. Campus-intranet and closed-circuit TV network have been established and the school library uses computer support system for its services. In 2002, the school won the titles of “ Regional Campus of Ethic Construction”, “ Regional Advanced Secondary Normal School of Moral Education ” , “ Regional May 4th Red Flag Youth League Branch ” in Guangxi; “ City Advanced Secondary Normal School of Moral Education ” and “ Model Unit of Ethic Construction of Xingning District, Nanning City”.
