Up to 2002, the city had 2 county-level training centers for adult education and 50 township-level cultural & technical adult schools. Among them 3 were regional model schools and 10 were city model schools. 496 village cultural & technical adult schools were set up with 498 faculty members, 108 of whom were full time while 390 were part time. Investment on adult school buildings totaled 3.087 million Yuan RMB. The city had experimental and demonstration bases of 467 mu for adult education at the levels of county, town and village.
