With the four superiorities of transportalong the coast, the river, the border and the rail,Nanning owns a quite convenient transportation network, which includes:

1. Aviation – Nanning Airport was built in 1962 and the runway and parking apron were improved in 1990. It is 32 km away from the center city and it can accommodate for larger airliners like the Boeing 737. At the present it services as many as 18 domestic and international civil lines with 76 scheduled flights per week, which links Nanning to most internal cities and the cities of Hong Kong, Hanoi and Bangkok by direct flights. Railway – The rail roads of Nanning pass through the trunk lines of Xianggui, Qiangui, Lizhan, Nanfang and Nankun to connect the north and extend to the east of Zhanjiang, Guangzhou, to the Sourth of Qinzhou, Fangcheng and Beihai, and to the southeast of Hanoi, Vietnam. 3. Waterway – There is one passenger transporting wharf, four main freight wharfs, 15 berths in freight docks with the maximum handling capacity of 250 tons. The Yongjiang River is running through the center city and the inner navigation routes from Nanning to Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Shenzheng, Wuzhou and another three parts have been put into using.

4. Highway---- There are 6 passenger transport bus stations in the city. The long distance bus lines have been extended to 371, which link to 7 regions of 57 cities or counties in and out of Guangxi region.

5. Mass Transit --- There are 243 buses in use for city transit with as many as 28 routes.

6. Taxi – Most of the taxis in Nanning are in red and can be hailed on the street with the charge of 6 Yuan for the starting distance of 3 Km and 1.2 Yuan for every additional km. If it is a luxurious taxi like Santana, the starting price will be 7 Yuan and 1.6 Yuan per km. You can check your bill from the mile meter on the taxi.
