Tiaogong Festival of the Yi

Tiaogong Festival (the Dancing-Over-Bow Festival) is called cao-qi in the language of Yi people, with the meaning of dancing over bow. It is also called kong-gou, with the meaning of being happy and praying for blessing. Tiaogong Festival is the most celebrated festival of the year for the Yi people living in the Guangxi-Yunnan boundary district of Napo County. The exact day on which the festival is celebrated is not the same in different villages, and the day is usually set in early or mid April of the Lunar calendar.
