Fenlong Festival is a traditional festival for Maonan people to pray to the Gods for a good harvest, and is held around the first Dragon Day after summer solstice.The celebrations usually last for two or three days. As it is said that the dragon is in charge of rainfall, people offer sacrifice to the dragon around Dragon Day to pray for a well-proportional rainfall , which will help ensure a good harvest.
