Miaonian Festival is the most celebrated traditional festival for Miao people. It is held every year, and lasts for three days, ten days or even half a month. The day to celebrate Miaonian Festival varies in different districts. In some districts it is held on the first Pig Day in November of the Lunar calendar, while in some other districts it is held on the first Rabbit Day or OX Day in September or October or November of the Lunar calendar. In Zhongbao, Nandan, Miao people celebrate Miaonian Festival on June 30th of the Lunar calendar.
