Zhuzhu Festival is also called Danu Festival, Zuniang Festival, Erjiu Festival orYaonian Festival. It is a traditional festival for the Bunu Yao people living in Duan, Bama, Dahua, Mashan, Pingguo and Longan districts. Zhuzhu Festival is celebrated on May 29th of the Lunar calendar and is held every year or every three or five years. It lasts for three days, and the major activities include playing the bronze drum, singing primordial songs, and traditional activities like antiphonal singing, lighting firecrackers, playing top, thrush singing competition, horse racing, and archery.
