The Tourism & Food Festival is a major activity associated with the Nanning International Arts Festival of Folk Songs. Having been successfully conducted for the past three years, the Tourism & Food Festival has now become a major attraction for Nanning and Guangxi, gaining a wide and strong reputation both at home and abroad and receiving encouragement and support for all circles in society. In 2003, the people¡¯s government of Nanning and organizing committee of Nanning International Arts festival of Folk Songs authorized the renaming the event as the Nanning International Tourism & Food Festival, with the intention that the Festival should grow in size and spectacle so as to make it even more attractive to an international audience.
